John Taylor

John Taylor (1808-1887) – amerykański duchowny mormoński, prezydent Kościoła Jezusa Chrystusa Świętych w Dniach Ostatnich (1880–1887).

• Wierzymy w przywrócenie zmarłych do życia, jak też w życie wieczne. Wierzymy nie tylko w zmartwychwstanie mężczyzn, ale też kobiet. Wierzymy w wieczyste więzi – na ziemi i w niebie. Tak samo, jak niebiosa niosą chwałę Pana a wszechświat toczy swój byt zgodnie z wieczystymi zasadami ustanowionymi przez Boga, obracając się wiek za wiekiem, tak samo człowiek musi rozwijać się – sam, ze swoją żoną i dziećmi – na wsze wieki.

• We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the life in the world to come; and not only in the resurrection of the male, but also of the female. We believe also in eternal unions, union on earth and in heaven. And as the heavens declare the glory of God, and the stellar universes roll on according to eternal laws implanted in them by the Deity, and perform their revolutions through successive ages, so will man progress and increase – himself, his wives, his children – through the eternities to come.
